Ingredients:
1 loaf Cuban bread
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 lb cooked ham, sliced thin
1/2 lb cooked pork, sliced thin
1/4 lb Swiss cheese, sliced thin
1/4 lb dill pickles, sliced thin
4-6 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat a panini press or a grill to medium-high heat.
Cut the Cuban bread into 4 equal pieces. Spread a thin layer of yellow mustard and mayonnaise on one side of each piece of bread.
On the other side of the bread, spread a thin layer of softened butter.
On one piece of bread, layer the ham, pork, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles.
On the other piece of bread, layer the garlic and olive oil.
Place the sandwich on the panini press or grill and press down firmly. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Carefully remove the sandwich from the press or grill and cut it in half. Serve immediately and enjoy your traditional Cuban sandwich!
Note: You can also toast the sandwich on a skillet or griddle if you don't have a panini press or grill.
