Ingredients:
1 lb ground lamb or beef
1 onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup of frozen peas
1 cup of frozen carrots
2 tablespoons of flour
1 cup of beef broth
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups of mashed potatoes
1 cup of grated cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the frozen peas and carrots and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture and stir to combine.
Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the meat mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the meat mixture, making sure to cover it completely.
If desired, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the top of the mashed potatoes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is heated through.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
