Ingredients:
3-4 large potatoes, peeled and grated
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 onion, grated
1 egg
Salt and pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, flour, grated onion, egg, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Heat a large skillet with a generous amount of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the potato mixture and form into small patties.
Carefully place the patties into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the Kartoffelpuffer from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve hot as a side dish or with a variety of toppings such as sour cream, apple sauce or lingonberry jam.
