Ingredients:
1 lb of ground beef or lamb
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup of chopped parsley
1/4 cup of chopped dill
1/4 cup of chopped mint
1/4 cup of crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup of grated kefalograviera or parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 package of phyllo dough
1/2 cup of melted butter
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain the fat and add the onions, garlic, parsley, dill, mint, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Sauté for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent.
Remove the skillet from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Stir in the feta and grated cheese.
Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat this process with the remaining sheets of phyllo dough, layering and buttering each sheet as you go.
Spread the meat mixture over the top of the phyllo dough, leaving about 1-inch border around the edges.
Fold the edges of the phyllo dough over the meat mixture, tucking in the corners and forming a rectangle shape.
Brush the top of the kreatopita with the remaining melted butter.
Bake the kreatopita in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and crispy.
Remove the kreatopita from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
